Metal Building Foundations Package – Soils Report + Foundation Design

When you a purchase a pre-engineered metal building, most often your steel building supplier does not do the foundation design. However, you are required by the City or County to get a soils report and foundation design plans. Foundation Engineering Consultants, Inc. has a package for a soils report & foundation design for metal buildings. We need foundation reactions & anchor bolt plan from your steel building manufacturer.

Initial Step:

• Email us the “anchor bolt plan & foundation reactions” from your Steel Building Manufacturer
• Tell us your schedule and contact information so we can issue you a work proposal

Middle Step:

• Sign our proposal and forward it with the required retainer.

Third Step:

• We come to your site and do the soils investigation and sampling
• We move to preparation of foundation calculations and plans
• We forward you the soils report and foundation calculations/plans for submittal

Final Step:

• We observe the foundation excavation and construction (usually 2 to 3 visits)

Cost:

The building price is low but we need to spend on proper foundation engineering and design. We will quote you if we don’t have huge backlog. You can spend a little on foundation design and save a lot on steel, concrete, time and labor during construction. After all, the firm who does your soils report is the optimum firm to do your foundation design.

Schedule:

It usually takes two weeks for the soils report and one week for the foundation design to be completed.  We would not design without a recent, competent soils report.
